The Tian Shan mountain range offers amazing endless options for heli-skiing. The terrain offers vast slopes suited for all levels of skiers. Whether you want to engage in chilled cruising, lay your own epic speed lines, or jump massive cornices – Uzbekistan has it all. The peaks reach 3000 – 4000 m above sea level, making runs of up to 10 km with 2500 vertical meters possible.
Due to the continental climate there is always enough snow which settles as hip-high powder. Its superior consistency leads to its snow stability even in steep exposures. The season with best conditions is between beginning of Feb until mid Mar, so we are right in the sweet spot. The area is known for stable weather conditions. Typically you get sunshine 5 out of 7 days with temperatures around -10 degrees C.
There are two ski resorts which also deliver on- and off-piste fun as a bad weather alternative, with some very cool backcountry powder options: Chimgan, which was popular in Russian times and the smaller Beldersay-Canyon.
The team from Snowxplore is our local partner with lots of experience in the region. They place strong focus on safety and enjoyment.
