Topic: Back to basics through remoteness and quietness
Program: Kyrgystan is mainly occupied by high mountains. Large parts of the country belong to the Tian Shan mountain range with its highest peak at 7,439 meters (more than 50% of the country are higher than 2500 meters). Eternal snow and glaciers cover about three percent of the land area. The perfect place for a great heliskiing adventure – level: Expert!
The part of the Tian Shan we will be exploring has an almost unlimited amount of 4.000 meters mountains with endless possibilities for big pow with many of the runs being first descents. We will be experiencing long runs through a wild and unspoiled landscape – hard to find elsewhere!!
Every imaginable steepness and exposure is available and at our doorstep – just waiting to be explored.
The starting point and base station for this trip is located near the town of Sussamir, which is also the disembarking point of a ski lift on top of the Too Ashu resort. The highlight of the resort being a chair lift that takes you to 3.000 m above sea level. In case of bad weather or bad visibility where the helicopter is unable to fly the lift is a valuable alternative to a snow cat skiing and ski toouring that is also available in case of bad weather (at extra costs).
